The homeowners wanted to replace their aging, rotting deck with a more durable and visually appealing patio. Because the back door sits significantly above the yard, the elevation created an engineering challenge. Our team solved this by designing a multi-tier paver patio, allowing for a smooth and natural transition from the home down into the backyard while creating distinct spaces for relaxing and entertaining.
One of the primary challenges of the project was the elevation of the back door. The height difference between the home and the yard required careful planning to ensure the new patio would be both safe and visually balanced. Rather than relying on a single-level design, our team engineered a multi-tier patio layout. This solution allowed the space to transition naturally from the home to the yard while creating distinct outdoor living areas that feel both functional and inviting.
To enhance the space for entertaining, a built-in natural gas grill and natural gas fireplace were incorporated into the design, creating a warm and inviting focal point for gatherings. Structural and seating walls were built using Unilock Estate Wall with Ledgestone Coping, while the patio surface features Unilock Brussels Block pavers with Il Campo accents for a timeless and durable finish.
A new paver walkway connects the backyard to the front of the home, and the front porch was reconstructed with matching materials to create a cohesive design throughout the property. The project was completed with low-voltage landscape lighting integrated throughout the backyard and hardscape, adding both safety and a relaxing evening ambiance for outdoor entertaining.
