Trees

The Northern Red Oak is one of the faster growing Oaks that we grow on our nursery in Peotone. It has salt and pollution tolerance which allows it to be used as a Parkway tree. When mature, the Red Oak will provide excellent shade. Dark green leaves in Summer turn to red/bright red in the Fall.  Red Oaks mature very tall and very wide (upwards of 75 feet) and the quantity of shade make planting under them not ideal. Red Oaks should be considered more of a “specimen” plant.
